About the Session

Crystalline silica is a hazardous substance found in common materials such as engineered stone, concrete, bricks, tiles, and fibre cement. When these materials are cut, ground, drilled, or polished, fine silica dust becomes airborne, and if inhaled, can lead to serious and irreversible lung diseases, including silicosis.

Under Work Health and Safety Regulation, employers must ensure workers are trained in the risks and control measures associated with exposure to crystalline silica. This 3-hour online course helps you meet that duty.
